Service Description
A DOT drug test refers to a drug screening required by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) for employees in safety-sensitive positions within the transportation industry. The primary aim is to ensure that these employees do not use illicit drugs or misuse prescription medications, which could impair their ability to perform their job safely and thereby jeopardize public safety. Who's Tested? The DOT drug testing requirements apply to safety-sensitive employees, which includes, but is not limited to: Commercial drivers Pilots Railroad conductors Pipeline workers Ship captains and crew members The DOT drug test screens for the following substances: Marijuana (THC) Cocaine Opiates (morphine, codeine, and heroin) Amphetamines and methamphetamines Phencyclidine (PCP) DOT drug tests have stringent procedures in place for: Collection of samples (typically urine) Chain of custody (ensuring the sample is handled properly and cannot be tampered with) Testing of samples (using approved laboratories) Review of results by a Medical Review Officer (MRO) to ensure accuracy and consider any legitimate medical explanations for positive results Types of Tests: Pre-employment Testing: Before hiring for a safety-sensitive position. Random Testing: Unpredictable, unannounced testing throughout the year. Post-Accident Testing: After certain types of accidents. Reasonable Suspicion Testing: If trained supervisors observe behaviors that suggest drug use. Return-to-Duty and Follow-up Testing: For those who have previously tested positive or violated the rules. Consequences: Those who test positive or refuse a test are immediately removed from safety-sensitive duties. They can't return to those duties until they complete a process that includes an evaluation by a substance abuse professional, any required treatment, a return-to-duty test with a negative result, and follow-up tests.
Cancellation Policy
A cancellation will not result in a refund for any reason. However, you may reschedule your appointment as long as it is at least 24 hours before your appointment. If it is not at least 24 hours before your appointment, you will be charged a $50.00 reschedule fee. No call no show will result in you having to pay for another test.
